Flowers - lots of them

Dave has, as usual, been working hard with the flowers this summer.  Unfortunately, they've taken quite a battering recently with this wet weather.  The downpours have been quite ferocious.  Dave also repainted the roof - well it's no good having fancy flowers on a tatty roof is it?!

The pots have gone from this (end of May) ......

 To this ..........

Dave's efforts were rewarded, when we picked up second prize in the Best Kept Garden Narrowboat Container section at a presentation held in Trevor Community centre on Thursday.  We were pipped at the post by Jan & Dave on Pipe Dream who deservedly came first.  Only a bit of fun, but it gets people involved in the community spirit.

Note to Dave Smith - see, I can do a blog without moaning - it's just not as much fun!

Just caught up with your posts - flowers looking good as always but have you treated yourselves to the long promised new camera as those close ups look very good for phone pics?
On the River Cam today one boat passed us. Yesterday we had stayed two nights on the Waterbeach moorings by ourselves - 3 cruisers passed us. We are so lucky to get out of it in the summers but your moorings are so gorgeous outside your silly season!

Hi Jo. Thanks for the comment. Hi Jill - yes, we've finally got round to buying a new bridge camera, which so far, has been fool proof (me proof). We still love this mooring, so we'll continue to pay for it, despite the number of boats in August! Hope to see you soon (4 weeks and counting, then we're off!) SUE
